Dave is a very close friend from Atlanta. We go back quite a few years and quite a few experiences. He’s writing in response to the posting about traveling with soul singer James Brown.

Gotta love the irony.

A couple of years ago, my daughter Annie won tickets to a charity concert by Usher (he lives in Atlanta). He had all kinds of guest artists performing with him – most of whom I’d never heard of. But then he said he owed a lot to the guys who paved the way before him – and he brought out James Brown. It was about six months before he died – I was so glad to say I got to see the man. But you had a much better seat and performance!
