When I first went to college in 1968 — 32 years ago — I got a hairbrush as a graduation present. It is much like the brush you see in the picture with this post. I have been using the same hair brush since then, even to this day.
That hairbrush groomed my locks when I had a full head of hair, and groomed the few remaining sprigs that I have today.
That’s why I have found it ironic that over the past 2 1/2-months, I have met with four different oncologists and each one has told me that with the cocktails each is recommending for my chemo treatment, I will not lose my hair as a result. I got quite a chuckle out of that.
But the other day, I was in the bathroom cleaning up and I noticed that my hairbrush is starting to lose its bristles — after 32 years and NO chemo. No matter how the day is going, there is always something to be thankful for.

Thank goodness we give better graduation presents…. really a brush?
At least you have managed to get really good use out of that thing. I have been with you for 26 years and never knew that the brush was so much older than me!
